Gadgets abound, and specialization is the key. Granted, I like some gadgets here and there, and I can’t argue that my handy dandy New Zealand fence energizer can weed my garden or make pesto.

But if you look around you can probably find places, things, or buildings that can be used more than once throughout the year to make or save you money, by making the spaces more productive. In permaculture this is called stacking – in other words it just makes sense.

Self Sufficient Backyard

In all that time an electric wire has never been connected to our house. We haven’t gotten or paid an electricity bill in over 40 years, but we have all the electricity we want.
