This miniature garden in a lightbulb makes a great center piece for the table and/or a cheap but unique little gift to make and give to a friend. It’s really simple to make and you can add your own personal touches with whatever you have available in the backyard. Here’s what you’ll need…
- A Bulb
- Safety Glasses & Gloves
- Pliers
- A Screwdriver
- A Rock (Optional)
- Moss & Dirt
- A Paper Tube
- Tweezers
- A Syrigne
- Little Acorns (optional)
- A Stick (optional)
Step 1 – Go Outside…
Go outside and collect moss, dirt, twigs, bark off a tree, sand and maybe some some flowers.
Step 2 – Empty The Bulb…
Use your pliers to remove the tip of the bulb and then, after carefully detaching the insides by pressing in with your screwdriver, use the pliers to remove the filament.
Step 3 – Fill It Up…
Place your paper tube in the hole and pour in your mini garden layer by layer, use your tweezers to neaten things up as you go, and decorate your garden with twigs and acorns.
Pour a small amount of water in using the syringe to make sure this tiny ecosystem stays fresh. Use either an acorn or a bit of a stick and some hot glue to cover up the opening.
Step 4 – Mount Your Garden…
Mount your garden using copper wire or anything else you like for presentation.
