Toward A No-Cost Garden: Grow Your Own Food For Next To Nothing

Patrick Dolan is all about growing a lot of food on a little land using sustainable organic methods, while keeping costs and labor at a minimum. Emphasis is placed on improving soil quality with compost, mulch, and compost tea. No store-bought fertilizers, soil amendments, pesticides, compost activators, etc. are used.

He’s convinced that the cost of growing your own food can get closer and closer to zero over time. After initial investments in the first few years on things like garden tools, raised beds, and compost bins, costs can trend toward zero, even as soil fertility and yields continue to improve.

In the video below Patrick covers useful tips on topics such as include frugal gardening, gardening on a budget, growing your own food, low cost gardening, edible perennials, perennial vegetables. Check it out below…
