My wife and I decided in spring of 2015 that we wanted to start growing most of the vegetables our family of 6 eats. It’s been an incredible journey and we’ve learned a lot along the way.

I’ve had friends and family contact me asking how to get started with gardening and I’m going to be sharing as much as I can about what we’ve learned and how we transformed our back yard into a completely self-sustainable food farm.

Self Sufficient Backyard

In all that time an electric wire has never been connected to our house. We haven’t gotten or paid an electricity bill in over 40 years, but we have all the electricity we want.
